The company was founded in Japan during 1912 and developed the world's first commercially viable small diesel engine in 1933.
Yanmar celebrated it’s 100th anniversary in 2012. 
The diesel engine has continued as the core business ever since, the key tool in the rationalization and modernization of agriculture, fishing and industry.
