The Spraying Systems story
Spraying Systems was founded by Svend Bramsen and Fred Wahlin in 1937. 
The company's first "plant" was a 600 square foot converted garage in Chicago, USA.
The work force consisted of two machinists and one office clerk. 
The company published its first industrial spray nozzle catalogue, which contained 11 pages and listed six types of nozzles.
In 1941, the company rented 1,000 square feet of an old public garage and expanded their work force to 18 staff.
The company moved to Bellwood in 1949 to occupy its own facility and there employed over 70 staff.
The original 25,000 square feet of space was increased over the next 20 years to cover 100,000 square feet.
New products in the 1940's included:
1. The first nozzles in the USA for spray drying milk, eggs and other products
2. Automatic air atomizing nozzles
3. DescaleJet® nozzles for steel mills
In 1971 Spraying Systems moved to a new plant in Wheaton, Illinois, USA.
This facility covered 163,000 square feet located on a 55 acre site and included modern computer equipment.
